Jeff Lawson , , , Founder, CEO, & Chairman

Jeff is a serial inventor with over 15 years of entrepreneurial and product experience. Prior to co-founding Twilio, Jeff was Founder & CTO of NineStar, Founding CTO of Stubhub.com and Founder, CEO & CTO of Versity. He was also one of the original product managers for Amazon Web Services. At every business, Jeff identified the fundamental need for a platform for developers and companies to easily build communications-based business solutions. Jeff grew up in the suburbs of Detroit, started his first company in middle school, and earned his BS in Computer Science & Film/Video from University of Michigan.

George Hu , , , COO

George served 4 of his 13 years at Salesforce as COO, where he owned all major shared operational functions for the company. He also served in a variety of other management roles including VP of Product Marketing, SVP of Applications, EVP of Products, and Chief Marketing Officer. After leaving Salesforce at the end of 2014, George founded a workplace feedback startup called Peer that was acquired by Twitter in 2016. George holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Harvard College and a master's degree in business administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Karyn Smith , , , General Counsel

Karyn has worked with high growth companies for over 20 years, bringing her passion for building high performing teams to Twilio in 2014 as its first lawyer. Today she leads the Company’s legal, government affairs, and trust and security teams, and she also served as interim Chief People Officer from 2016 to 2017. Prior to Twilio, Karyn was Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at Zynga, where she oversaw all corporate matters and led Zynga through its $1B IPO in 2011. Before Zynga, Karyn was a partner of Cooley LLP, representing emerging growth companies at all stages of growth, from formation through liquidity event and beyond. Karyn has been recognized numerous times for her leadership, including most recently the National Women in Law’s thought leadership award in 2018. Karyn earned her Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Missouri, Columbia, and her JD cum laude from Santa Clara University School of Law. Karyn currently sits on the board of the Business Software Alliance.

Khozema Shipchandler , , , CFO

Khozema brings over 20 years of experience in finance, most recently serving as GE Digital’s chief commercial officer. Khozema previously served in a variety of positions within GE, including as the chief financial officer and EVP of corporate development at GE Digital and the vice president of corporate audit staff of GE. Khozema earned his bachelor's degree from the Indiana University Bloomington and graduate coursework at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

MARTY RÉAUME , , , Chief People Officer

Marty is a seasoned HR executive passionate about building high-performance teams, fostering an exceptional employee experience and committed to supporting both global and local STEAM initiatives. Marty is dedicated to cultivating strong leaders and a defining culture. Most recently, Marty was the Chief People Officer of fitbit Inc (NYSE: FIT), building a People function and championing cultural initiatives. Prior to fitbit, Marty was the CPO of NetSuite Inc. (NYSE: N) for over nine years. Marty holds an HBA in Labour Management from the University of Toronto, a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Windsor, and a Masters of Organizational Psychology from Arizona.

Erin Reilly , , , Vice President of Social Impact and GM of Twilio.org

Erin is energized by using a company’s unique assets to create positive impact on the world. In the past 20 years, she’s driven social and environmental change while working at companies such as Google, Yahoo!, and Nike. She’s helped launch new businesses in Africa and India to provide fast access to the Internet, engaged tens of millions of people in environmental programs, and raised millions of dollars for disaster response. Erin also has experience in the nonprofit sector at Business for Social Responsibility, and started her career at the engineering firm Tetra Tech. She holds a BA in Human Biology / Environmental Management from Stanford University and an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley.

Sameer Dholakia , , , CEO of Twilio SendGrid

Sameer has over 20 years of experience in successfully bringing high growth, disruptive cloud and enterprise software solutions to market. Previously Sameer was the CEO of SendGrid and during his tenure, SendGrid’s revenue nearly quadrupled and he led the company’s 2017 initial public offering. He received Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Chee Chew , , , Chief Product Officer at Twilio

Chee Chew brings more than 25 years of experience in the technology industry formerly working at companies such as Amazon, Hewlett-Packard, Google, and Microsoft. In Chew’s role at Twilio, he will be responsible for Twilio’s product roadmap and will be responsible for creating and expanding Twilio’s current product portfolio that’s used by millions of developers.

Previously, Chew was the Vice President of Consumer Engagement at Amazon and was responsible for its core shopping experience on the web and mobile apps. Prior to Amazon, he was the Vice President of Engineering at Google where he was responsible for Google’s real time communication efforts, including Hangouts and Google Chrome within the broader Seattle-area.

Chew holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Computer Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He currently sits on the Board of Trustees for the Olin College of Engineering.

Ott Kaukver , , , Chief Technology Officer

Ott serves as the chief enabler of innovation and the leader of Twilio’s engineering platforms and architecture. Before Twilio, he was an early employee at Skype, where he built the engineering team essentially from scratch, to over 300 in three years. Under Ott, Skype launched SkypeOut, and grew the business into a $1 billion product line. Prior to joining Skype, Ott served as General Manager of Software Development Business Unit at Helmes. Ott grew up in Estonia and earned his BA in International Business Administration from the Estonian Business School, and his MBA from INSEAD.

Sara Varni , , , Chief Marketing Officer

Sara is responsible for growing Twilio’s community of developers while simultaneously bringing Twilio into the enterprise market. Prior to Twilio, Sara was SVP of Marketing at Salesforce where she was responsible for the positioning and go-to-market strategy for Sales Cloud, the world’s leading sales platform. At Salesforce, Sara held various leadership roles, including marketing for Desk.com and the Salesforce AppExchange. Before joining Salesforce, Sara worked in mobile strategy at E! Networks. She holds a BS in Business Administration from Bucknell University and an MBA from The Anderson School of Management at UCLA.

Nils Puhlmann , , , Chief Trust and Security Officer

A 20+ year security veteran, Nils brings experience in diverse business environments and is extremely passionate about keeping trust and security top priorities for Twilio. Prior to Twilio, he served as the Chief Technology Officer of Endgame, and also held the position of Chief Security Officer at Zynga, Qualys, and Electronic Arts. Puhlmann also co-founded the Cloud Security Alliance nonprofit organization, which promotes the use of best practices for security assurance within cloud computing.

CHRISTINE ROBERTS , , , VP and GM of Super Network

Christine is driven by finding every opportunity to improve customer engagement experiences and create customer delight. She has over 25 years of experience in Engineering, Product Operations, Partner Relationships, and Product Management across Motorola, Google, Lenovo, and Netflix. She's also an active proponent of engaging girls and underrepresented minorities in STEAM early, consistently, and experientially to ensure diverse views and innovation are represented in technical fields. Christine has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University, where she serves on several advisory boards, as well as an MBA in International Business from DePaul University.

Marc Boroditsky , , , Senior VP of Sales

Marc is responsible for developing and executing sales strategy and leading Twilio’s global sales team. Marc joined Twilio by way of the company’s acquisition of Authy in 2015 and served as general manager of Account Security prior to his current sales role. Marc is a seasoned entrepreneur with more than 30 years experience including more than 25 years with technology startups. He has founded and financed four software companies in electronic medical records, authentication, and identity management. He successfully completed the sale of his most recent startup, Authy, to Twilio and before that, Passlogix, to Oracle.
